5/2/2021 There's Never enough time!As we prepare to wrap up another year of learning and creating in the Art Room, it seems the time passes more quickly each school year. While we pivoted from face-to-face to remote learning and back a few times this school year, students continued to follow our Georgia Standards of Excellence for Visual Arts. Many of our artworks are completed during multiple art class periods and although this took longer than in previous years, I am so proud of our student artists and all they accomplished! We are painting and glazing our clay sculptures in 4th and 5th grade. 2nd and 3rd grade artists are weaving baskets. Kindergarten and 1st grade artists are stitching with yarn on burlap.
The CCES Class of 2021 is also currently creating artwork that will be included in a tile wall outside of our Media Center. The annual 5th Grade Legacy Project is always an important part of end of the year activities. Thanks to grants from the City of Milton and Cobb EMC, the courtyard outside of the Art Room will soon include new perennial plants. This project will attract butterflies and bees and provide our students with a front row seat to the changes that occur each season in a garden. When we have visitors in the building once again, be sure to check it out! Here is a sample of our 5th grade bobblehead clay sculptures. Aren't they great? Comments are closed.
