9/23/2017 This is my "why"A sweet third grade artist handed me this note on her way into Art on Friday.
Another reminder of how lucky I am to have the best job in the world! Here's Mrs. Reagan's third grade class, awarded the trophy for their amazing work last week. When you work quietly, that's when the BEST comes out! Your creativity really has a chance to SHINE! What a great inspiration for the rest of the CCES artists!
9/16/2017 Digital Portfolios Coming Soon!So happy to be back in the Art Room after our Tropical Storm Irma 3 day school closure. We have too much to do to be missing our time together! Students have begun uploading photographs of their artwork to the Seesaw sharing app. Parents will soon receive an invitation with the information necessary to access our online gallery. We'll be using this tool to share our work with our families, keeping in mind that each artwork takes several class periods to complete. And the art we are making now will be sent to our partners at Artome so that they can mat and frame it for our December art show. More information coming soon!
Mrs. Miller's 5th Grade artists spent an entire class working quietly this week. The results SPEAK for themselves. Less talking = better quality work!
9/2/2017 Congratulations!Mrs. Nelson's 2nd Grade class received the Art Champions Trophy this week! We had complicated, multi-step directions to follow creating our cut paper Molas. This folk art from Panama inspired us with its layered fabric and tiny stitching. And these artists made me proud with all of their creative ideas and hard work!
