10/6/2014 0 Comments Digital Portfolios, Day 1Fourth and Fifth Grade students are beginning the work of photographing their completed artworks. This digital record of their work will be added to over the course of the school year. Just as we did last year, each class will create an iMovie including slideshows of their artwork and the students themselves talking about their art. This makeshift photo booth is making the process much easier this year and allowing students to take much better photographs.

10/3/2014 0 Comments Pumpkins and iPads. Oh my.First Grade artists are studying pumpkins while they complete a survey on our iPads. Is a pumpkin a shape or a form? What kind of texture does the pumpkin have? Is it a warm or a cool color? Are the pumpkins symmetrical or asymmetrical? Students have been helping each other to answer these questions without any assistance from me. We then study the resulting pie charts that show up on my iPad after they submit their responses.
